Vision

Building up young adults as disciples of Jesus Christ through spending tim together in fellowship, engaging in active Kingdom Community, encouraging and challenging faith, and bridging the gap into the adult church.

To disciple up a generation of young people who are Kingdom-minded, excited about the Gospel, and ready to live their lives for Christ as a part of His church in His world.

Who is young adult group for?

YAG (that’s what we call our group) is a ministry designed for adults who are post-high school through 25 years.

Small Group

On a typical small group night, we gather and spend time in musical worship, reading Scripture together and then small group prayer followed by fellowship at the end. From September to May, this is our primary type of meeting.

Fellowship and Fun

One of the important things to building deep friendships and community is shared experiences and having good clean fun together. In YAG we seek to provide not only opportunities for sharing in spiritual disciplines in Small Group, but also in the fellowship of hanging out together. From our summer camping trip, to movie and game nights, our winter party, and serving, we seek to grow and challenge our developing relationships as we move into adulthood.

Calendar

We follow a fairly strict every-other week schedule for our Small Group meetings. These are published at the beginning of every semester and posted to the church calendar. Our fellowshp events are less frequent and have less notice given, these are communticated out through our messaging system or at our Small Group meetings.

One of Our Goals

We recognize that graduating high school and becoming a part of the adult church is difficult and is often a time when young people leave the church for lack of feeling connected. Our aim is not to prolong the time of the merging into the church as adults, but to provide a next step for young adults who are looking to stay involved in church but deeply desire connection and friendship with peers. Our goal is to be that point of fellowship and spiritual intimacy.

Three times a year we talk about the purpose of YAG and our hopes for each individual as they grow in their time as a part of the group. We encourage our 18-22 year olds to be considering church membership and plugging into ministry. Our 23-25 year olds we encourage to be a part of an adult small group in addition to YAG. When a young adult turns 26, they get to finish the semester they are in and then they graduate from YAG, hopefully established in a small group and confident of their place in the church.
